The Animal Studies Reading Group (ASRG) is made up of faculty, as well as undergraduate and graduate students at Concordia. The group meets monthly to discuss fiction, poetry, theory, or film on nonhuman life. If you’re interested in participating, please get in touch with Jesse Arseneault.
Upcoming Events
Our next meeting will be held on Friday, October 20th from 6 to 8pm in LB 671-05. We will be discussing Nicholas Holm’s “Consider the Squirrel: Freaks, Value, and Vermin in the Ruins of Nature.”
On November 2, we will also be meeting in anticipation of Claire Jean Kim’s public lecture with SPAM, and to discuss her book, Dangerous Crossings: Race, Species, and Nature in a Multicultural Age.
